We all know Grandparents love photos of their kids, and the older the grandkids get, the harder it is to get photos of them, ESPECIALLY together. With my help, brothers Mitchell and Darren remedied this so they could give a set of sibling photos to their Grandfather for his birthday. He loved them, as you can well imagine, and I loved heading out to Auckland Domain for an afternoon of photos with these two.
An early summer afternoon with sunshine, ocean, and a gorgeous boho dress. Having the perfect mix of things with a slightly mermaid vibes shoot, Grace and I created some gorgeous photos together.
Documenting the day to day at El Framo has been one of the joys of my time there over the past 10 years. Bespoke picture framing is an art form in itself, everything crafted at the hands of a well trained and talented team. The perfect picture frame can make or break a piece of art, and seeing the finished piece makes all the time and effort worth it.
I recently went out shooting with the lovely Tayla of ‘Her Name is Tayla Design’ to grab some portraits for her Instagram. Having seen my photos around Wynyard Quarter, she was super keen to give that a go which gave us so many different locations to play with. I even tried a few spots I had never explored before! We jumped in amongst the landscaping to play with the vibrant and amazing colour panelled fencing.

Stylist Anna-Kate and I spent a year collaborating on shoots to get content for her blog and instagram, capturing outfit ideas galore to inspire her followers and clients to play with their wardrobe, get creative, and have fun with clothes.
Whilst she is no longer working as a stylist, the collection of images we have from that year are some of my favourites.

If you haven’t experienced the joy that is the Monstera Monstera space at the City Works Depot, you need to rectify that immediately.
The perfect combination of industrial and idyllic, this gorgeous plant store is as much a dream to explore as it is to shoot.

Having recently moved to New Zealand from Paris, my lovely client Alix wanted to show off the best that Auckland has to offer. Her first comment to me about the differences between here and her home was how green our city was. So far removed from the classic architectural beauty of Paris, Auckland’s character as a city relies on the ocean and all the trees we have managed to squish into the CBD.
With talks of wanting to combine architecture with greenery, the character of her two cities, the domain was the only real choice as a location for the shoot.
And it was perfect.

Wynyard Quarter is one of my favourite places in Auckland to go for a portrait session. Rain or shine, it looks amazing, and there are so many pockets that have a completely different look to them, so the options for creativity are endless.
The ocean and the love locks make it especially cute for a couple shoot.
I was lucky enough to get the chance to go exploring with these two. With them being recently engaged, I got the chance to capture a very special time in their lives.
Williams Eatery is my go to for a coffee when I’m in town. Both the coffee and the space are great - always a huge positive when both elements come together.
It’s such a favourite that I have always wanted to shoot there. From the full wall of windows letting in some gorgeous light, to the minimal but warm and beautiful space. It’s absolutely perfect. So when I got the chance I was so excited, and everything turned out perfectly.
I love a good portrait session with a twist, and these photos were definitely that. With the light show and the amazing exhibit as a backdrop, this series of images are unique.
The very clever and talented Grace curated this wonderful exhibition for Auckland Museum in a year. One year. It’s amazing and unreal that she managed it. I captured images of her earlier in the year for her portrait in the book that goes along side the exhibition, which you can check out HERE.
The exhibition is finally here though, and she asked if I would come and capture some images of her in the space she spent a very hard and long year creating.
Between the lighting and the funky bags, it was such a creative and fun shoot.
Grace Lai is the mastermind behind a wonderful upcoming exhibit at Auckland Museum called ‘Carried Away’, a role that requires a lot of work, but also a lot of press.
As a big fan of the environmental portrait and getting creative, she asked me if I would come and shoot with her so she had a collection of images to use for all her media enquiries for the exhibition.
We had an amazing time exploring parts of Auckland Museum (she had a staff pass, don’t worry guys!) and capturing some great images.
Goodness Gracious is hands down one of my favourite places to grab lunch in Auckland, and has been for a very long time.
When Sam and I first started working together, he was living in an apartment right around the corner from the original GG location in Eden Terrace. We would end up there far too often, especially considering I was still at Uni at the time and on a uni student budget.
So this place has been in my heart for a very long time, and getting the chance to go and shoot the space, the coffee, and the people made for a great afternoon.
If you love a verrrrry good bagel, great coffee, and awesome people, this series of gorgeous hole in the wall cafes are where you have to be.

For the perfect mix of beautiful Auckland references, Devonport is the place to be for a photoshoot. From Cheltenham Bay, to the Devonport Ferry Terminal, Mount Vic to the Old Naval Base, there is no shortage of quintessential Auckland backdrops here.
We had three outfits and 4 locations on this shoot, all showing off the best parts of Devonport. It made for a shoot full of never ending options for images, and we could have easily shot for hours more than we did.
Muriwai is an Auckland favourite for a photoshoot. Far enough away from town that it doesn’t feel like the city, but is also gorgeous and dramatic enough to make for some spectacular images.
For this shoot, we stuck to the beach, but with the forest as well, there is a never ending set of options out there to keep any photographer excited for hours. A definite favourite in my books.
