My Life on 35mm #10 | Portra 400 December 2018
I promised you a beach photoshoot, and thats what you get!
I mentioned last week that I shot a lot of film on New Years Eve with my friends, and most of the roll was dedicated to some fun shots by the water.
The boys were all wearing loud patterned short sleeve button downs, and I just had to get some photos of them all together. The exposures themselves are not the best. I stupidly underestimated the backlighting here because it was so late in the day and figured that it woudn’t be too bad. But water as we know just bounces light around and they were standing in the shade a bit. Ah well, you get the point anyway.
We had a lot of fun doing this, and bless my friends for always being super tolerant of me running around with a camera. I think the older they all get, the better they are about it. I spent New Year with a handful of my High School friend group, and I can confidently say they were not this tolerant/did not pose for me when we were all 15 haha. 10 years of friendship and growing together changes a lot. I think they now understand how great it is looking back on all of them.
Zara and Mitch then set up the netting around their campervan and i’ve not seen the driveway so densely packed and perfectly set up so I had to document that process as well.
Hope you enjoy us being idiots on the beach on the last day of 2018!
